Rebecca Dikow - academic info

I am a PhD candidate at the University of Chicago within the Committee on Evolutionary Biology. My advisor is Leo Smith in the Division of Fishes at the Field Museum of Natural History.

I got my BS at Cornell University and then worked in the molecular systematics lab at the American Museum of Natural History in New York before starting at the University of Chicago.
I am interested in how the emerging field of genomics is being incorporated into the theory and methods of phylogenetic systematics. By the completion of my degree, I hope to generate a phylogenetic hypothesis based on whole genome data for the family Vibrionaceae (Bacteria: γ-Proteobacteria).
